See: newscientist.com/ article/ dn8393.html As an alcoholic, I'm not sure how useful this would be in beating an addiction. I've found that AA is my only way of staying sober. Has your nephew looking in to Narcotics Anonymous? Its based on the AA fellowship, and may help him to overcome his addiction. See: na.org/ I know many, many alcoholics who haven't found rehab to be helpful. Addiction is very, very tough thing to beat, and talking to people who have been there and understand can really make a difference. There is a 'friends and family' chat room for those who are affected by anothers alcohol or drug use here that may be helpful to you. You have to register but it is free: stepchat.com/ There is fantastic forum that has sections for alcoholics, addicts and friends and family here: soberrecovery.com/ forums/ Best wishes for your family. |
