Meth Addict

Question: Ex meth addict please help. ?

Ok so i have a close adult friend. and i didnt realize it at first but now i do, i looked up crystal meth and everyones face was all messed up boney skin nd red blothes and they picked at there face. and my mom picks at her face everyday and shtold me when she dated her old b/ f he made her do meth. she is a drug dealer/ drug user. i only no she does weed so far, but maybe more. how can i make her stop picking at her face and mood swings, and be nicer even when shes off the drugs. ps- i pull her hand away from her face away alot but i always get yelled at. PLEASE help, and please no smart allic comments. this is serious and i do needhelp ps- i freakin no its the wrong section, there is no drug section

I think helping your mom get herself to rehab is more important than picking at her face. This is a difficult thing to do for somebody young like you and I feel sorry for adults who expose their children to drugs. Your mother is not a good role model for now. It is best to seek help from the authorities. I know this is not easy but you are helping yourself and your future which your mother does not care about.

I'm so sorry to hear that you and your mom are going through that. In all honesty, before you can help her she has to want the help, truly want it. For example, my brother was very far into drugs and alcohol for years. Finally, in the past 2 months he has realized he needs to change and he has been making positive changes in his life but not before he made the decision to change. I used to cry, beg, and plead with him to stop but he never did until he was ready.

I wouldn't have a clue what to do in your situation - it has to be pretty difficult. The only thing i can think of is to start out by calling someone at Narcotics Anonymous - they have volunteers that might be able to give you some advice and at least some ideas to get you mom some help. Drug rehab is a big money-making business, so something like NA is a good place to start since they are not about making money.

The concept of addiction & addiction as a disease is something way beyond the comprehension of most people, the medical fraternity & sciences included the best hope there is to allow someone who knows exact and have gone though the process themselves and sobered up just browse through na.org , sure enough there should be a telephone number listed for your locality / area speak to them about the issue you can believe me, that you are in safe hands & someone will sure attend to it and do the best possible, at the earliest plenty many places have 24 hour helplines
