How can you tell if a house you wish to rent or buy has formerly been used as a meth lab?


What symtoms might a person experience if they moved into a home that had a meth lab in it?
When I spend the night in my bedroom of a home my husband and I purchased about a year and a half ago I wake up with a congested cough and my asthma flares up. When I sleep in any other room I don't have that problem. We found out that the person we purchased the house from is a meth user.

What do meth labs smell like?
I just want to know so i can stay away from it and avoid smelling it. I've read that it's dangerous to inhale that stuff, but i've read so much in the news about it, i'm asking so if i know what it is, ai can get far away from it.

Concerns that the house we are renting is a former meth lab?
I rent a house with my wife and 1 year old son. The former owners of the house smoked a lot. Before we moved in, my wife and I wiped the walls down with cleaning solution and they just dripped black water when we sprayed the cleaning solution on them. It took a long time to clean them but the smell is MUCH better now. Anyway, my mother called me today and asked me if I had ever thought that this house was a former meth lab because of the smell. From what I have read, the smell in a former meth lab is very chemical. We've never smelled anything other than just stale smoke in this house. My mother covertly swabbed some dust from the cracks of the house and tested it with some meth tester. It didn't register positive but eventually did a few days later. We really doubt that it was a meth lab but we don't know what it would smell like. Is there a way to determine for sure? I'm afraid the landlords may just lie if we ask. Would the police department test the house for free?

What are the side effects of living in a previous meth lab?
I am not positive, but I am pretty sure this place that I am living in now may have been a meth lab at one time... I can not prove it, but my daughter and I have been sick since we moved here 4 months ago. Is there a way to find out for sure, and what are the symptoms of living in a previous meth lab?? Please Help with only real answers, this is a SERIOUS matter no jokes please.I am renting, but it is a trailer, and when I moved in, it was filthy and it took me a week to clean it before I would even move my stuff into it. THere really are no hiding places or anything, and the carpets have been professionally cleaned, but the only place I have a strong urine oder is in the bathroom, I cant get rid of it, so I closed it off and I dont use it, averyone uses my bathroom in the master bedroom. I have had the septic tank emptied, and the lines cleaned because when I first moved in, I had a lot of problems with draining and flushing toilets. I really dont have any proof, but I would like to have this place tested, my landlord told me that the people that lived here prior, left without notice and non payment and I was allowed to have the first month free if I cleaned it up. My 11 month old and I have been sick since we moved in. What does a meth lab smell like?
My neighbors have people coming and going all the time day or night. And only staying for short periods of time. So one would be lead to believe they are dealing. A few days a week when I go outside there is a strong sulfur smell. It almost instantly makes me nauseous. What could this be? Could it be meth?

Is there a way to make methadone, or is it methamphetamine the is made in "meth labs"?
I'm not thinking about making it or anything. i'm just trying to figure out the difference between methadone and methanphetamine. when the new say " another meth lab exploded" which on are they talking about.Is speed the one that can be made in a lab or is that the one that helps recovering heroin addicts.i need someone to explain to me all the difference between the two.I want to know because i saw it on law & order. lol

Grease fire or meth lab?
Last weekend, i left on a road trip with a few of my girlfriends on a roadtrip, only to realize when i arrived home, that my husband had set my oven on fire completely destroying the vent hood above, and leaving burn marks on the cupboards above, due to what he said to be a grease fire. By the time I had time to inspect the damage, he replaced the vent hood, but the burn marks still remain on the surrounding cupboard. My husband is a recovering drug addict, with meth being his drug of choice. Is there any way I can know for sure that it was a grease fire, and not a drug cooking gone bad?yeahhsaid he was cooking french fries.

Is there a link between meth labs and pnemonia in children?
i know a person who's other half os a known cook and now one of htere kids is diagnosed with pnemonia and I believe I reasd something about a connection in the past

What does a meth lab smell like?
I live in a rural neighborhood where the homes are on 5 acre lots . I noticed a sweet,sickening, pungent and burning electrical wire smell a little after 12 at night. Smell was so strong had to close my window. I have smelled this before, only at night.Could they be cooking meth? and possibly outdoors as the smell is so strong?10 hours ago 4 days left to answer.

Me and my sister worked at a secret Crystal Meth lab...and now?
Last Summer me and my sister applied for an odd job squad in our community.. and we got a placement at a plant food factory. We were pouring chemicals for two days straight that smelt like soy sauce. We thought we should have at least some gloves or goggles but the " boss" said it was fine because it was organic. Today in the newspaper we found out that the factory was an uncover meth lab.. and everyone working there was arrested and decomtaminated and everything. So we don't know if what we were pouring was actually plant food or something else... so what types of health concerns would we have long term and short term if we were actually pouring something to do with meth?
