Why do meth users more often then not become meth abusers?

Basically what i'm asking is why does it seem like all meth users HAVE to become abusers? why cant they just do it on the week ends. and lead normal lives like people that smoke marijuana. i have never done meth so i don't know what the high is like but it would be cool is a past meth user could explain to me why exactly you had to keep doing it again and again instead of being a casual week end user? also could you explain what the high is like (if possible)

Because meth is VERY addictive psychologically and physically! Amphetamine withdrawals, while not usually life-threatening, are very unpleasant, and if you have a choice of whether or not to go through them, you would choose not to.

Meth is addictive and weed is not addictive.
