It's not the center that makes a person successful, it's a combination of factors that contribute to a person staying clean. they need to get out of their environment and dissociate themselves from anyone they used with (dealers, distributors, cooks, ect). they need to get a support network of people who have kicked the habit and are willing to hold them accountable for staying clean. the best thing that worked for me was going to live in a halfway house for a year and narcotics anonymous. this halfway house was nothing special and inexpensive, no more than paying rent for an apartment. it provided structure and required me to get a legitimate job and check in whenever i left the campus. it also required me to get a sponsor in the narcotics anonymous program and attend at least 3 meetings a day. i've been clean for 2 years. you have to stick with the program though, you can't skip out or slack off or you'll relapse. na is the only thing that worked for me and it's free. check out the site to find a meeting na.org/ |
